Northridge Little League Updates!

Northridge Little League Fans and Families,

First, a Huge Thank You to your Understanding, and Patience, with me, and with the Northridge Little League Board of Directors.  2020 threw all of us a huge curveball!  While we never planned a Global Pandemic cancelling our plans for a Spring 2020 Season, we wouldn't let it destroy our League, and baseball for our community, for years to come. Financially, we had to come to the difficult determination that refunding money that had already been spent, was simply not possible. Based on the financial losses that we experienced, and proposed figures for this year, NRLL also cannot afford to credit registration fees for future seasons.  I know how hard these times are for everyone, and if you have any financial questions or concerns, you can email me, or reach out to Jacqueline Frees, NRLL Treasurer, at [email protected].

Second, a Huge Thank You to those that participated in the NRLL Summer/Fall Practice Program.  This Program was offered at no cost, to all players that had been registered for Spring 2020 Season.  Based on Safety Protocols that Northridge Little League Board of Directors developed, in coordination with requirements from Sunrise Recreation and Park District and Sacramento County, NRLL was permitted to hold approximately 300 practices for 14 Groups (Cohorts) of players, between July-November.  There were over 2,000 temperatures checked, check-in questions asked and answered, plenty of sanitizing fields and hands, and by feedback received, we were able to provide a lot of socially distanced and safe baseball.  Another Huge Thank You, to the Coaches that committed their time and effort to provide this opportunity.

Now, on to the Future!  Spring 2021 Registration is now open.  All information is available on our website, www.northridgebaseball.com, or on the attached flyer.  All Divisions from Tee Ball through Seniors are currently open, as well as the return of our District-Wide Challenger Division! Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.  If you have any questions regarding how to navigate the website or registration page, please contact Eli Thompson, NRLL Webmaster, at [email protected].  If you have any questions about which Division to sign up for, or any School or Residency Boundaries questions, please contact Heidi Crespo or Kari Hill, NRLL Player Agents, at [email protected].  While we simply do not know what the future holds, we are all hoping to be able to hold a full season of baseball.  We will continue to be bound by Sunrise Recreation and Park District and Sacramento County as to Safety Protocols, but we are confident that we will, to the extent allowed, provide amazing value for your financial investment.  Will games start in March?  Will it be practices only, to start?  Will we have enough players register to have full teams for all Divisions? It's all too soon to tell.  But I hope that I have your faith that we will do our very best.  It is a very difficult predicament to continue to be in; but I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing, figuring out what we CAN DO for our kids, for our NRLL baseball, for our community.

Finally, we are still accepting interest for Managers, and we are always accepting Sponsorships.  If you are interested, or have a lead for us, please reach out as soon as possible!  We will also be sending out more information in December for upcoming events. Thank you always, for your support of Northridge Little League. You can also keep up with upcoming events on Facebook, at Northridge Little League - Citrus Heights (www.facebook.com/NRLL.citrusheights/).

Yours in Baseball Everyday,

Kat
